whileweregone.com
A private booking site for family and friends to stay at our Long Island City apartment.
Overview
Tomás & Emma's Place lets family and friends request stays at our NYC apartment while we're away. Guests sign in with Google or a passwordless email link, we approve them, and they can then see the free dates and book.
Why I built it
Lending out the apartment used to mean long message threads about which dates were free. This gives trusted guests one place to check availability and book, while keeping the calendar private to people we know.
What it does
No passwords
Guests sign in with Google or a one-tap email link.
Approval flow
Tomás or Emma approve each new guest before they can see anything.
Availability calendar
Approved guests see the free dates and request a stay.
Own domain
Runs on its own web address, whileweregone.com.
